Bird's Nest is out on a limb!

If you recall, I saved my head of hair that was shaved from my scalp during Chemo. Tonight I made a bird's nest with my hair and placed it "out on a limb" of a tree in my backyard. When I take Rocky (my dog) outside, I'll be able to see and watch as a mother bird cares for her young. I believe that mother will have a deluxe accomodation for her youngins.

Also, Glen is bringing me into Boston's Mass. General Hospital tomorrow for a
7:00 am. appt. to meet with my anesthesiologist regarding surgery next Monday,
June 1st. I know, sounds like fun. Do we know how to have a good time or what?????

Some of you wondered why I still had to have surgery if my tumor went from a
10 cm. tumor down to zero. I have two forms of cancer in my left side. One that Chemo helps and one that Chemo doesn't phase. So surgery in a week!

My surgeon actually said that she would be happy to recite a few positive, healing affirmations during surgery. Remember, your auditory hearing continues and your subconscious remembers. I know, I'm not your typical patient!!! Whatever!

Speaking of which:

I would be most happy if you could think of me on Monday June 1st sometime around 8:00 a.m. or after. Wrap me in a blanket of purple (I'm tired of pink). If you visualize a memory of me that makes you smile (hopefully you have one), and then wrap me in that blanket, my energy will feel your energies sending me love. Thanks for considering it.

I remain, Positive, Hopeful, Crazy and a wee bit scared out of my wits!!!!!!!
You could say, I'm out on a limb!!!

  1. Auntie Tree,

It's hard for me to visualize just one memory of you that makes me smile, since you've been such a huge part of my life for 27 years. But I'll keep it with something a little more recent. It started with an email titled "Meet Someone New?????", and ended with you saying "We'll see how good I am at this thing." Well June 27, 2009 will be the defining proof of how good you are. I sent that first email on October 4, 2006. Both of our lives would change forever that day, as you became a Nini for the first time with the birth of Alex Jr. I could go on and on, but I don't want to hog up all the space. I love you so much. You're always in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Hi there,

My name is Kathie and I was referred to your site by Sheila Abreau. I know Sheila through dealings at my workplace. Although I have never actually met her in person she has been a good friend and inspiration. I was diagnosed in April with breast cancer and Sheila has told me that you have been an amazing person throughout your ordeal of cancer and the ride that diagnosis take one on. I see by your site here, that she was correct. You seem like one special lady and I wanted to wish you luck and let you know that I will visualize a purple blanket of hope, love and warmth to wrap you in on the 1st.

  3. Hi Theresa,
Not only will I think of you and wrap you in purple, I will be wearing purple to make me think of you often...maybe all who read this post can do the same. Wouldn't that be a neat sight for you to envision while trying to relax (easier to say than do, I know) before surgery. I hope you will feel our warmth as we steer it your way.
You've gone through so much already, but I know you'll come out of this with flying colors. Listen to all of your family and friends, and know that you are one AMAZING woman.
We love you and pray for the fastest recovery ever!!
    Love,
    Anne and Scott

  4. Hi Sister-friend,
You know that we will all wear purple on Monday and I will get my students to wear purple as well. You know the significance a "bird" had for me when I was awaiting my surgery. A special bird with an extremely orange breast would sit outside my window and sing all day with a very unusual sound. It stayed outside until I had my surgery and my cancer was gone and then I have not seen or heard from it again. For those that do not know, and may be reading this my mom passed away 20 years ago and always told us she would love to come back as a bird. So I now am asking my mom to sit outside your window until you are free from this "interruption in your life". Let me know if you hear her.
Prayers and love are being sent each day from Michaelah and I.
    Love you,
    Sister-friend Sheila

  5. Theresa:

You are one of the strongest women I have ever met! I thought back when my mom, Dorothy "Dottie" Emond, was diagnosed with parotid cancer and they gave her six months. She made it two very eventful years, most of which was geared to making me strong to take care of my father, etc. She was truly "the wind beneath my wings". You are an inspiration to all that are blessed to know you. You have the same unique quality that my mom did, of giving everyone your support/strength and reassurance that things will be okay. Again, making sure everyone else is taken care of. I truly believe that the law of attraction gives us the right to think positive thoughts and they will happen. Monday is officially "WEAR PURPLE DAY".....You should feel the strength of all who know know and love you!

    With Love & Support (like a Playtex bra)Melody (:
